Maui is the fourth island in the state to be fully-fiber enabled
- About 88% of the state is now fully fiber-enabled.
- Kaua‘i, Moloka‘i and Lāna‘i were fully fiber-enabled in 2023, and O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island will be fully fiber-enabled by the end of 2026.
Why Fiber?
The demand for data and bandwidth continues to accelerate. More Internet providers are moving to upgrade their equipment to meet demands for faster speeds.
Hawaiian Telcom is the only organization in the state that provides 100% fiber internet service. Hawaiian Telcom’s plans are now underway to invest $1.7 billion to make Hawai‘i the first fully fiber enabled state in the nation by the end of 2026.
