Hawaiian Telcom Salutes Employee Volunteers During National Volunteer Month 35-Year Company Veteran Recognized for High Performance in Community

Honolulu (April 27, 2021) – During National Volunteer Month, Hawaiian Telcom recognizes and thanks its employees for volunteering and making a positive impact on the local community.


Hawaiian Telcom also recognized 35-year company veteran Gina Amina with its first President’s Award for High Performance in the Community. As president of the Waikiki 2000 Lions Club, Ms. Amina led and participated in numerous service projects, ranging from The School Age Hearing Program (pre-COVID) to organizing food and supply drives for organizations that support our kūpuna like Project Dana. 


In 2019 Hawaiian Telcom launched a unique employee volunteer program called Mālama (to care for) Hours that gives all full-time employees up to 40 paid hours to volunteer in the community every year. Hawaiian Telcom employees logged more than 1,160 volunteer hours in 2020.
