Honolulu (April 4, 2024) - Hawaiian Telcom announces the launch of Fioptics+, a new way to watch TV powered by Hawai'i's only 100% fiber network.
Enabled by the company's multi-million dollar investment in fiber infrastructure, Fioptics+ TV service is now available to fiber-enabled households on O'ahu. Pending regulatory approval, Fioptics+ will be available on Kaua'i, Maui County and Hawai'i Island later this year, giving residents of these islands a choice for the first time.
Fioptics+ combines live TV and streaming video through a modern user interface with a powerful search engine. *Studies indicate that 85% of U.S. households subscribe to streaming services and the average U.S. household with broadband service subscribes to more than eight streaming services.
"Fioptics+ gives you more control over your TV experience," said Chris Raker, Director - Consumer Sales for Hawaiian Telcom. "You can watch live, on-demand, and your recordings at home and on-the-go, and easily search for your favorite shows, movies, and sports while also launching your favorite streaming apps directly from the guide."
Fioptics+ features include:
- One input to access all shows including live TV, recorded programs, and popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+.
- Advanced voice-activated search allows you to find content based on titles, actors, directors and more.
- Cloud-based Digital Video Recorder (DVR) storage so you can watch recorded programs on any device.
- Catch up/ Restart feature that allows you to go back up to 72 hours to watch TV.
Using the Fioptics+ streaming opp eliminates the need for additional set top boxes on smart TVs, which can save money, and gives customers the ability to watch TV and schedule recordings on their favorite mobile device like smartphones and tablets.
Bundle Fioptics+ TV with high-speed internet service to consolidate bills and save money. Different channel packages and speeds are available. For a limited time, new customers can get a $200 gift card when bundling fiber internet service and Fioptics+ TV!
Hawaiian Telcom has applied for regulatory approval to offer Fioptics+ TV service on Kaua'i, Maui County and Hawai'i Island to give residents a choice, infusing competition into these markets for the first time. More information will be shared as the process moves forward.
