DOMAIN NAME EXCHANGE CUSTOMERS: If you previously had your email hosted with Verizon under your own domain (i.e. kai@surfco.com) you can still reconfigure your email management software using the directions above. Be sure to substitute your domain everywhere it says hawaiiantel.net. Example, Outlook POP3 setting would be Incoming = mail.surfco.com and Outgoing = smtp.surfco.com. Be sure to double check that all instances of hawaiiantel.net are replaced with your domain name.
Entourage 11 Verify
Open Entourage.
Click on the Entourage menu and click Account Settings...
Click on the Hawaiian Telcom account and click the Edit icon at the top.
Verify your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address is in the Account Name.
Verify that the Include this account in my Send & Receive All schedule box is checked.
Verify your name in the Name field.
Verify your email address in the Email Address field.
Verify the Account ID (this is your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address)
Verify the POP Server: mail.hawaiiantel.net
Verify your Password.
Verify that the Save password in Mac OS X Keychain box is checked.
Verify the SMTP Server: smtp.hawaiiantel.net
Click on the Click here for advanced receiving options button right below Save password in Mac OS X Keychain.
Make sure that none of the boxes are checked.
Click the top left square to close that window and return to the main Edit Account screen.
Click on the Click here for advanced sending options.
Verify that the option SMTP server requires authentication is checked.
Verify that the option Use same settings as receiving mail server is selected.
Click the top left square to close that window and return to the main Edit Account screen.
Click on the Options tab.
Make sure that your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot.
The following are the most important:
- No checkboxes are checked.
Click OK to close the window and save any changes if it prompts you. Close the Accounts window.
Click on the Tools > Run Schedule > Edit Schedules.
Click on the Send & Receive All schedule and click the Edit icon.
Make sure that your settings look like the settings shown in this screenshot.
The following are the most important:
- Repeating Schedule Every __ Minutes: Change it to 15 minutes.
Click OK.
