DOMAIN NAME EXCHANGE CUSTOMERS: If you previously had your email hosted with Verizon under your own domain (i.e. kai@surfco.com) you can still reconfigure your email management software using the directions above. Be sure to substitute your domain everywhere it says hawaiiantel.net. Example, Outlook POP3 setting would be Incoming = mail.surfco.com and Outgoing = smtp.surfco.com. Be sure to double check that all instances of hawaiiantel.net are replaced with your domain name.

Entourage 11 Setup

Open Entourage.

 

Entourage will open to the Entourage Setup Assistant to help you setup your email account.

Put the dot in I want to start using Entourage without importing anything and click the right arrow to continue.

 

Type in your E-mail address.

Click the right arrow to continue.

 

Automatic Configuration Failed

This does not mean that there is a problem. This error means that Entourage tried to find out the server and settings from it's database but could not find it.

Click the right arrow to continue.

 

Enter your name in the Full Name field.

Enter your email address in the Email Address field.

Enter the Account ID (this is your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address)

Enter your Password.

Put a check in the box Save password in Mac OS X Keychain.

Enter the Incoming Mail Server: mail.hawaiiantel.net

Incoming mail server type: POP

Enter the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.hawaiiantel.net

Click the right arrow to continue.

 

Optional: Verify Settings

Click the right arrow to continue.

 

Enter your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address as the Account name .

Make sure that Add this new e-mail address to your "Me" contact is checked.

Make sure that Include this account in my Send & Receive All schedule is checked.

Click the Finish button to close the Entourage Setup Assistant and open the Inbox.

 

Click on the Entourage menu and click Account Settings...

 

Click on the Hawaiian Telcom account and click the Edit icon at the top.

 

Click on the Click here for advanced sending options button below SMTP server at the bottom of the screen.

 

Check the option SMTP server requires authentication.

Verify the option Use same settings as receiving mail server is selected.

Click the top left square to close that window and return to the main Edit Account screen.

Click OK and then close the Accounts window.
