DOMAIN NAME EXCHANGE CUSTOMERS: If you previously had your email hosted with Verizon under your own domain (i.e. kai@surfco.com) you can still reconfigure your email management software using the directions above. Be sure to substitute your domain everywhere it says hawaiiantel.net. Example, Outlook POP3 setting would be Incoming = mail.surfco.com and Outgoing = smtp.surfco.com. Be sure to double check that all instances of hawaiiantel.net are replaced with your domain name.
Outlook Express 5 for MAC Setup

Open Outlook Express.

Select Tools > Accounts.

Select the Mail tab.
Click New.

Click Configure account manually.

Select the Account Settings tab.
Enter an Account Name.
Enter your full name in the Name field.
Enter your email address in the E-mail address field.
Enter your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address in the Account ID field.
Enter the POP server: mail.hawaiiantel.net
Enter your password and check Save password.
Enter the SMTP server: smtp.hawaiiantel.net
Click the button labeled Click here for advanced sending options.

Check the option SMTP server requires authentication.
Verify the option Use same settings as incoming mail server is selected.
Click the close button in the top-left corner of the window.
Click OK in the Edit Accounts window.
