DOMAIN NAME EXCHANGE CUSTOMERS: If you previously had your email hosted with Verizon under your own domain (i.e. kai@surfco.com) you can still reconfigure your email management software using the directions above. Be sure to substitute your domain everywhere it says hawaiiantel.net. Example, Outlook POP3 setting would be Incoming = mail.surfco.com and Outgoing = smtp.surfco.com. Be sure to double check that all instances of hawaiiantel.net are replaced with your domain name.

MAC Mail 10.3 Verify

Open OSX Mail.

 

Select Mail > Preferences...

 

Select Accounts.

Verify the Description for the account (such as your full name or e-mail address.)

Verify your email address in the Email Address field, and your name in the Full Name field.

Verify the Incoming Mail Server: mail.hawaiiantel.net

Verify the User Name (this is your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address)

Verify your Password.

Click Server Settings...

 

Verify the Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.hawaiiantel.net

The option for Authentication should be set to Password.

Enter the User Name (this is your Hawaiian Telcom Email Address)

Enter the SMTP Password (this is the same password you entered previously.)

 Click OK.

 

Select Advanced.

The option to Remove copy from server after retrieving a message should be set to Right away.

Close the Mail Preferences.
