Welcome! Hawaiian Telcom is pleased that you are visiting our special reorganization website. Our customers, employees and suppliers are the foundation of our business and we want to keep all of our constituents informed during this process. First and foremost, Hawaiian Telcom is continuing to operate its business without interruption. The Company has proudly served the communications needs of Hawaii for over 125 years and our dedication to providing our customers with the best quality service remains our highest priority going forward. While we restructure, we plan to continue implementing our strategic plan which is focused on improving its customer service, enhancing processes and systems to rebuild customer and community confidence in the Company, simplifying its existing product offerings while focusing on the introduction of new products, and leveraging its network infrastructure. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the information posted within the website. Below are some general questions, and you will find more specific customer and supplier information within those tabs. In addition, we have set up a toll free reorganization information hotline at (888) 733-1409. Its hours of operation are 7:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. (HST) Monday through Friday. In addition, you can email us at reorginfo@hawaiiantel.com and we will respond to your inquiry within one business day. We thank you for your interest and look forward to serving the local community for many more years to come. What is Chapter 11? In other words, we filed for Chapter 11 to preserve and strengthen our business for the future by addressing our current financial situation. Why did you file for Chapter 11? Do you have enough money to stay in business? Does this mean you are going out of business? What happens during Chapter 11? Chapter 11 permits, and in fact encourages, daily operations to continue. We will continue to serve our customers, pay our associates, and pay for goods and services purchased after the filing date in the ordinary course of business. While operating the business, management will work with the Company’s creditors to finalize a plan to restructure or reduce its debt. The restructuring plan is called a plan of reorganization. When the plan is accepted by the creditors and approved by the Court, it is said to be confirmed and Hawaiian Telcom emerges from Chapter 11 as a reorganized company. How long will the Company be in Chapter 11? Which entities are included in the filing? Who will run the company? Will management remain in place? Where can I find Chapter 11 case information? How can I get a copy of the petitions? |
