What to do when service is impacted by severe weather conditions
-
Get updates from your electric company on when power will be restored.
Please keep in mind that many of our products and services require electricity to operate. Therefore, if power is lost -- you won’t have access to your services until the power is restored. Below you’ll find links to information about how to get your Hawaiian Telcom service at home up and running quickly once the power comes back on:
-
Keep phone lines open.
We encourage all customers to keep non-essential calls to a minimum during weather events to ensure that lines can remain open for emergency purposes.
-
Avoid moving downed lines.
If high winds cause Hawaiian Telcom cables to fall, service may not be impacted unless the cables are severed. For your safety, avoid downed lines as they could be active power (electric) lines that are potentially dangerous to touch. Moving them could also hamper restoration efforts.
-
Report cables and poles that have been damaged by the storm.
Report any fallen utility poles or cables immediately to our 24-Hour Customer Service Center at (808) 643-6111 or online at hawaiiantel.com/supportform.
