Paul H. Sunu -
Chief Financial Officer
Paul H. Sunu joined Hawaiian Telcom in May of 2007, bringing more than 25 years of experience in finance, tax, treasury, securities and law. As CFO, he oversees all of Hawaiian Telcom’s financial operations, including treasury, financial analysis and reporting, corporate and regulatory accounting, tax and investor relations. He is responsible for developing and implementing financial systems and reporting structures to ensure Hawaiian Telcom is a highly efficient provider of services and model of financial integrity. As a member of the senior management team, he plays an instrumental role in developing and executing Hawaiian Telcom’s strategic plan.
Prior to joining Hawaiian Telcom, Mr. Sunu was a co-founder, a member of the board of directors, and served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for Madison River Communications, which operated four local telephone companies, primarily in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Illinois
Mr. Sunu began his career at Arthur Young & Co. in Chicago where he provided tax advisory and compliance services to corporate executives.
Mr. Sunu is a CPA and received a bachelor's degree in public administration and accounting in 1978 from the University of Illinois. He earned a law degree from the University of Illinois in 1981. He and his wife, Grace, who is from Hawaii, have two children who are attending college on the mainland.
